Jennie K. Scaife Charitable Foundation Helps Address Some of Our Region's Most Pressing Health and Wellness Issues

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has received generous funding from the Jennie K. Scaife Charitable Foundation to improve health equity across Western Pennsylvania. Totaling about $1.8 million, this grant marks the second annual gift from the Foundation in support of four unique programs: Perinatal Hope Program, Healthy Food Center,Chronic Care Specialty Team, and the Humane Health Coalition (a partnership between Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh and AHN CIH). Funding will address addiction, food insecurity, and chronic disease management.

Save the Date for the Annual Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation 5K

In a heartwarming journey from teacher to founder, Jessica Rogowicz's battle with skin cancer inspired her to found the Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation. To date, the Foundation's annual 5K has raised $375,000 for skin cancer research and treatment at AHN. This year's event is June 15, 2024, and proceeds will benefit AHN under the direction of Dr. Howard Edington.

AHN Teams Up with Special Olympics Pennsylvania for the 45th Annual Winter Games
AHN Sports Medicine experts again provided on-site medical services for the 300 athletes competing in this year’s Special Olympics Pennsylvania Winter Games. For the first time, they were also joined by AHN Chill Project educators, who provided behavioral health support and wellness activities for athletes.
