Jewish Healthcare Foundation Supports Maternal Care Innovation for Immigrants and Refugees in Our Communities
|
 |
The Jewish Healthcare Foundation recently provided funding to expand the AHN Immigrant and Refugee Health Doula Program. The funds will support maternal nutrition and food insecurity through an innovative collaboration with the AHN Healthy Food Centers. Doulas and community health workers will be trained to recognize and address food insecurity and nutrition-related concerns for pregnant and postpartum patients through screenings and visits and provide tailored food boxes as needed. The expansion will also provide additional training, education, and community awareness of food insecurity and maternal mortality for immigrants and refugees. Thank you, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, for your support!
