For 30 years, Dr. Russell Fuhrer served as a physician leader of radiation oncology, demonstrating excellence in patient care and innovation in radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Dr. Fuhrer passed away on November 13, 2023.

To honor his legacy, The AHN Cancer Institute launched a $250,000 campaign to name the Collaboration Conference Center and support innovative research to improve patient outcomes.
To date, over 100 gifts and nearly $200,000 have been received in his honor.

AHN Cancer Institute Announces 2024 Cancer Screening Events
Patients may receive up to seven different screenings in one day, all at one location. Screenings may include:
- Breast cancer (ages 40+)
- Cervical cancer (ages 21-65)
- Colorectal cancer (ages 45+)
- Head and neck cancers (ages 18+)
- Lung cancer (ages 50-80 with history of smoking)
- Prostate cancer (ages 45+)
- Skin cancer (ages 18+)

In addition to the screening events, weekly screenings are offered at AHN Jefferson Hospital (565 Coal Valley Road, Jefferson Hills, PA, 15025) on Tuesdays. Patients can call 412-325-9015 to schedule an appointment.
