AHN Chill Project Partners with Stop the Judgment Project
AHN Chill Project™ and Stop the Judgment Project partnered this year to combat the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction through educational events hosted in partnership with four schools across the region. Stop the Judgment Project aims to create compassion for young people facing these challenges by educating about the dangers of substance use while providing crucial support to families navigating these difficult journeys.
The collaboration reached 1,300+ students and 80+ faculty over the ’24-’25 school year. Additionally, funding from Stop the Judgment Project helped support enhancements of AHN Chill Rooms™ in underserved school communities. Thank you to Stop the Judgment Project for your generosity and partnership!

AHN Receives $3 Million Gift From Joseph and Kathleen Guyaux to Support Neurosciences, Cardiovascular Medicine, Orthopaedic Care
Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is deeply grateful to Joseph and Kathy Guyaux for their extraordinary $3 million investment in AHN's future, supporting three vital areas of patient care. Their gift is distributed equally to establish the Joseph and Kathleen Guyaux Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, the Joseph and Kathleen Guyaux Innovation Program in Cardiology and supplement the Banman-Lupke Patrick J. DeMeo Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery.
The Guyauxs are longtime pillars of our Fox Chapel community. Joseph has served as Highmark Health's board chair since 2015 and on both Highmark Inc. and AHN boards. This gift continues the Guyauxs' remarkable tradition of philanthropy that has already benefited numerous western Pennsylvania organizations, including AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital where their sons were born.

AHN Launches Program to Improve Heart Health of Nursing Staff
Thanks to a generous $100,000 gift from an anonymous donor whose own heart health was transformed through plant-based nutrition, AHN Allegheny General Hospital launched a Cardiovascular Prevention Program focusing on how through lifestyle modifications, participants can improve heart health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. The six-month program is led by Medical Director of the AHN Women's Heart Center Indu Poornima, MD. It will provide 100 AHN Allegheny General nurses with plant-based cooking demonstrations, fitness resources, healthy food options and more to combat cardiovascular disease, which significantly affects nurses due to stress, shift work and burnout.

A History of AHN Saint Vincent Hospital: 1950s
Saint Vincent Hospital expanded its services significantly during this period. A service building opened, and hospital leaders unveiled plans for a new, air-conditioned four-story inpatient center featuring diagnostic, X-ray, physiotherapy, lab and clinical facilities, along with remodeling of business quarters. Both the Medical Records Department and an Artificial Kidney Unit were established. By 1959, Saint Vincent had reached a 435-bed capacity, serving 12,634 admissions, delivering 3,040 babies, handling 16,753 emergency room visits and performing 6,132 major operations.

Cornerstones Gala Honors AHN Saint Vincent's Remarkable Legacy
AHN Saint Vincent Hospital celebrated its 150th anniversary at the Cornerstones Gala, a special event recognizing the remarkable individuals who have made the hospital a cornerstone of Erie. The Gala was held on Friday, April 25, at Bayfront Convention Center and celebrated the hospital's enduring legacy of care and ongoing commitment to the community.
