Four Months After Triple Bypass, Patient and Donor Reaches the Edge of the World
This American Heart Month, Grama Bhashyam's experience captures the extraordinary moments that AHN's cardiac care can make possible. After emergency triple bypass surgery at AGH, Pennsylvania's #1-ranked hospital for cardiac surgery by U.S. News & World Report, he made a long-planned trip to Antarctica and Patagonia just four months later with his wife, Asha. In gratitude to Dr. Candice Lee, Dr. Akshay Khandelwal and his care team, Grama made a gift to AHN's Cardiovascular Institute, supporting the life-saving excellence that transformed his health crisis into a remarkable recovery.

Pittsburgh Firefighter's Legacy Continues After 10-Year Battle with Rare Cancer
Stephanie Meyer, wife of late Pittsburgh firefighter Randy Meyer, hosted a wine gala last November that raised more than $44,000 for Dr. David Bartlett's Cancer Research Fund. Randy battled rare appendiceal cancer for 10 years under Dr. Bartlett's care. After Randy passed away in August 2023, Stephanie created the Randy and Stephanie Meyer Spread Goodness Fund to continue their shared commitment to helping others. The wine gala honors Randy's memory and supports the pioneering research that gave them 10 precious years together.

Olive Branch Wexford's Hand-Sewn Gifts Bring Comfort to Our Youngest of Patients
Olive Branch Wexford generously surprised us with hand-sewn pillowcases and teddy bears for the pediatrics unit, along with custom isolette covers for the NICU at Wexford Hospital. These thoughtful, handmade items will undoubtedly provide comfort to our young patients and their families.

AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital Celebrates Expanded Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Allegheny Valley Hospital's $6.2 million investment establishes the hospital as AHN's center of excellence for rehabilitation services. The expansion added 12 new beds, bringing the unit's total to 29, and introduced advanced technologies, including the Bioness Vector robotic system and specialized gait training equipment. The Alle-Kiski Medical Center Trust contributed nearly $300,000 to purchase major rehabilitation equipment that will help patients recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and orthopedic surgeries regain mobility, strength and independence.

AHN Cancer Institute Opens New Location at North Fayette Health + Wellness Pavilion
The AHN Cancer Institute opened a new state-of-the-art facility at the North Fayette Health + Wellness Pavilion in January, replacing the longtime Robinson location and serving approximately 2,000 patients annually. Led by medical oncologists Dr. Jason Stepp and Dr. Ranjita Pallavi, the facility offers medical oncology, hematology and infusion services integrated with laboratory services, primary care, imaging and women's health under one roof — improving care coordination and convenience for patients throughout the western suburbs.
